On J.S. Bach’s 337th birthday, maestro Nicholas McGegan leads the Cantata Collective orchestra and chorus, along with a stellar cast of soloists (Thomas Cooley, Paul Max Tipton, Nola Richardson, Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, Derek Chester, & Harrison Hintzsche) in a performance of the St. John Passion.

Old First Concerts presents an all-J. S. Bach concert showcasing some of the most talented young musicians in Northern California. Berkeley Bach Cantata Group: St. Matthew Passion Sing
The Berkeley Bach Cantata Group invites singers who love Bach to join the BBCG chorus and orchestra in reading through choruses from the St Matthew Passion. At this session celebrating Bach’s birthday, the group will welcome its new Music Director Derek Tam. In addition to choruses from the Passion, the festive, rarely performed opening double chorus from Cantata BWV 215 will be sung.
