Cal Performances: The Tallis Scholars
In a program that builds a bridge between the 15th and 21st centuries, the Tallis Scholars pair a masterwork of Renaissance polyphony (Antoine Brumel’s Missa Et ecce terrae motus) with a new composition by composer David Lang (sun-centered), written in answer to the Brumel mass.

California Bach Society: St. John Passion
Artistic director Paul Flight leads the award-winning California Bach Society in Johann Sebastian Bach’s magnificent St. John Passion, with Mark Bonney as the Evangelist and Scott Graff in the role of Jesus. A 50th anniversary reception will follow each performance.

The Berkeley Bach Cantata Group invites singers who love Bach to join the BBCG chorus and orchestra and Director Derek Tam in reading through St Matthew Passion excerpts and Cantata BWV 4, Christ Lag in Todes Banden.
