California Bach Society: Plaisirs Baroques—Grand Motets by Charpentier, Mondonville, and Telemann
The California Bach Society opens its 51st season with three lavish masterworks of the French Baroque: grand motets composed for chorus and vocal soloists, with lush orchestration for strings, flutes, oboes, bassoon, trumpets, and drums. The program includes a Te Deum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Dominus Regnavit by Jean-Joseph de Mondonville, and Deus Judicium Tuum, written by George Phillip Telemann during his eight-month Paris sojourn in 1737.

San Francisco Bach Choir: TESOROS DORADOS—Treasures of the Spanish New World
The San Francisco Bach Choir, led by Artistic Director Magen Solomon, performs little-known sacred works by Peruvian, Mexican, and Argentinian composers, including Hernando Franco, Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz, Sebastián Durón, and Domenico Zipoli, among others whose names are lost to time.
