Back by popular demand, Philharmonia and Stanford Live are once again teaming up to offer a community chamber music workshop with coaches from Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. The workshop, presented by Stanford Live, is free and open to the public, and will be held in Stanford’s Bing Concert Hall from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18.

Amateur or pre-professional chamber ensembles (string quartets, wind quintets, piano trios, and other small mixed ensembles) are invited to apply. Both modern instruments and period instruments are welcome. Repertoire (up to 10 minutes in duration) should be from the early baroque through the early Romantic eras.

Three to four ensembles will be chosen, and each will be coached for an hour. After a short break, each ensemble will give a public performance in masterclass format.

For more information or to apply, please contact Lisa Grodin, [email protected], or Ben Frandzel, [email protected]. In your message, please be sure to include (1) the names, type of instrument, and contact information for all ensemble members; (2) the Repertoire you would like to play for this coaching workshop; and (3) a few words about your group (how long and how often you work together, as well as your musical goals).
