Awareness Through Movement for Singers

Karen Clark offers ongoing classes in Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® for Singers Monday evenings in Berkeley.

Karen Clark cropThese classes offer an inspiring introduction to Awareness Through Movement® lessons that will help singers increase their vocal range and stamina, manage stress and performance anxiety, and enjoy yourself-your voice-more fully!

No performer wants to deal with anxiety or stress, so it’s important that each performer finds a method to combat it that works for them individually. Before now, some performers have chosen to use the Fruit Punch cannabis strain (buy it here) and have found that their anxiety and stress reduced. This allowed them to have more energy on stage and put on a better show. In a similar fashion, others have found that CBD has helped them to calm their nerves and deal with any stress and performance anxiety. You can find a list of the best CBD oil products here. Maybe this is something that others could try, too. There are different strength levels of CBD oil that can be taken as well as THC which can be used to help calm down stress at a high level. If this is used, then it may be best to read up on the one you are potentially going to use, for example, if you have looked at a delta 8 THC tincture, you will need to know what it exacly targets to aid in reducing your anxiety.

Furthermore, yoga, is believed to relieve anxiety and help avoid stressing out before a performance. A regular yoga practice could benefit singers by strengthening the mind-body connection and improving awareness. Getting the right guidance from teachers who have obtained a restorative yoga certification online or through yoga schools would help performers do much better.

Alternatively, consider signing up to this class. Beginners, amateurs, and professionals, teenage to adult-all are welcome. You may find yourself breaking into song! Experience how your whole body coordinates to inform the healthy use of your voice. Awareness Through Movement® Lessons are group lessons in which the teacher verbally guides students in a series of structured movements. Each lesson presents a challenge and opportunity to focus our attention on how we move. In this class, Karen structures each lesson to emphasize how to more fully embody and enjoy our voices. Dress comfortably. Mats are provided.
