Join members of the California Bach Society and Dr. Flight in exploring choruses from Cantata 1, Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern; Cantata 3, Ach Gott, wie manches Herzeleid; Cantata 8, Liebster Gott, wenn werd ich sterben; Cantata 37, Wer da gläubet und getauft wird; Cantata 40, Dazu ist erschienen der Sohn Gottes; Cantata 62, Nun komm der Heiden Heiland; and Cantata 128, Auf Christi Himmelfahrt allein. $50 fee includes music and lunch. Project Zefiro
Stillman square
“Gaudeamus” Final concert culminating a week-long wind workshop coached by Greg Ingles and Dan Stillman, featuring 13 players (3 cornetts, 5 sackbuts, and 5 reeds) from across the US an abroad. The centerpiece of this year’s concert will be the triple choir Missa de Batalla by Joan Cererols, with other celebratory pieces (not always about battles) by Victoria, Gabrieli, Carissimi and Pevernage, among others, filling out the program.
