Marin Baroque, Daniel Canosa, Music Director
Marin Baroque Summer Workshop For Instrumentalists & Singers. Marin Baroque hosts a workshop for both instrumentalists and singers, focusing on Joseph Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis, also known as the Lord Nelson Mass. The workshop will be led by Marin Baroque’s Music Director, Daniel Canosa. Faculty will include Aaron Westman, upper strings; William Skeen, lower strings; and Rita Lilly, voice; with Yuko Tanaka, workshop accompanist. The workshop will provide string instrumentalists, choral singers, and vocal soloists with the opportunity to work with outstanding and renowned musicians who are specialists in their fields of baroque and Classical technique. Students will study more advanced vocal or instrumental skills through preparation of the Lord Nelson Mass, which will be presented at a performance with orchestra, open to all in the evening of August 24th. (Additional instrumentalists will join for the performance.) Please note that soloists participate on both Friday, 8/23 and all day Saturday 8/24; choral singers and string players participate only on Saturday 8/24.
