Tish Berlin and Calextone — Trill of the Baroque
We’ll drill essential ornaments – the trill, mordent, and appoggiatura – and put them into practice in Baroque duets and play-along continuo recordings. Movements from duos by Mattheson and Hotteterre; sonata with recorded continuo by Loeillet. Geared to: intermediate to upper intermediate alto recorder players. Pitch: A=440. My earlier Trill of the Baroque classes are not prerequisites for this class.

Tish Berlin and Calextone — Tuesdays with Bach
Each Tuesday we’ll work on a Contrapunctus from The Art of Fugue, as well as a harmonization of a chorale tune, using my GarageBand play-along recordings. On February 16, instead of a chorale, we’ll work on a fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier. Except for Contrapunctus #1, all the Art of Fugue pieces are new for my Bach classes. Geared to: upper intermediate to advanced recorders. Other instrumentalists are welcome. My recordings are made with SATB recorders so the pitch is an octave higher than written. Pitch: A=440.
