Cantata Collective: Bach BWV 35 and 169 Featuring Reginald Mobley, countertenor and Nicholas McGegan, organ
Join SFEMS for our season finale featuring Cantata Collective and two superstars of the early music firmament: countertenor Reginald Mobley and Nicholas McGegan in a special appearance on organ! These combined forces bring many decades of performing the works of Johann Sebastian Bach at the highest level to two special (and extremely demanding) cantatas written in 1726 for an alto soloist: Geist und Seele wird verwirret (BWV 35) and Gott soll allein mein Herze haben (BWV 169). Mobley’s consummate artistry is equally matched by the rare treat of virtuoso organ obbligato in the hands of McGegan, now the music director laureate of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale.
5:00 PM PT
Cost: $15 individual; $20 household (two or more individuals in one residence).
Online: Livestream access provided with purchase. Concert will be available on demand through July 5.
