The Genius of Bach: A Five-Week Online Music Seminar
Join Baroque flautist Stephen Schultz in his newest music history course exploring the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach. This online, five-week course is a chronological retrospective of Bach’s life and works, covering major aspects of his instrumental and vocal music. Learn about the principles of historically informed performance practice in relation to modern and period instrument performances of Bach’s music.

California Bach Society: Cantata Workshop—Cantata, BWV 12 (Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen)
Join artistic director Paul Flight, CalBach singers, soloists, and guests to sing, listen, and learn together. We’ll practice sections of the choral movements, sing along to an outstanding recording, learn about the cantata from Paul Flight, and enjoy solos all sung live from soloists’ homes during the event. We will be joined by internationally acclaimed soloists tenor Kyle Stegall (from Columbia, Missouri), and bass Marc Pantus (from Amsterdam, the Netherlands) and our director, countertenor Paul Flight.
