Voices of Music- Virtual Class Offering
“The Big Bang: An Introduction to Percussion in Early Music with Peter Maund.” In this class you’ll be introduced to percussion instruments commonly used in European medieval and renaissance music. We’ll learn basic playing techniques for the instruments and how to create percussion accompaniments for the repertoire. (Participants without drums can use common household percussion instruments, such as pots, wastebaskets or cardboard boxes).

Santa Cruz Baroque Festival – Online Concert Hall
“American Vocal Harmony ~ from root to flowers ~.” African Americans took the Renaissance’s musical language and molded it to their own purposes, developing a plethora of styles that have a deep influence on our culture. Endurance, a celebrated quartet of gospel singers from Houston Texas, present a set of gospel in a pre-electric, a capella style. Renaissance roots, transformed and accompanied by African roots, supporting leaves of chords, vines of melody, and flowers of musical inspiration.
