New Esterházy Quartet
“Masonic Brotherhood: Mozart, Haydn & Pleyel” The Santa Rosa Junior College Chamber Music Series presents the New Esterházy Quartet (Kati Kyme & Lisa Weiss, violin; Anthony Martin, viola; and William Skeen, cello) performing works by Mozart, Haydn, and Haydn’s student Ignaz Pleyel. Known today as piano builder and music publisher, Pleyel was a prolific composer, well-known in late 18th-century Europe and America. All three composers were members of Masonic lodges. The program includes Pleyel’s Quartet in D minor, Op. 8, No. 3; Haydn’s Quartet in D, Op. 50, No. 6 “The Frog;” and Mozart’s Quartet in B flat, K. 589.
