SFEMS Presents In Dulci Jubilo: The Aulos Ensemble with Julianne Baird
Join the musicians of Aulos and special guest soprano Julianne Baird as they celebrate their valedictory season—as well as the holiday season—with a festive concert of 16th through 18th century favorites in Aulos’ own transcriptions, including Alessandro Scarlatti’s Christmas Cantata, French noëls with musettes and rigaudons by François Couperin and Jean-Philippe Rameau, and a selection of arias by Johann Sebastian Bach, each with references to this special time of year.

Young Women’s Chorus: Carols by Candlelight
The premier ensemble of YWCP, the Young Women’s Chorus, opens its season as a guest artist at Old First Concerts with a candle-lit concert that includes Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols performed in full with harpist Meredith Clark, as well as music by Hildegard von Bingen, Rachmaninoff, Busto, Randall Thompson and many contemporary settings of traditional carols..
