Marin Baroque, an emerging professional chamber choir and period instrument orchestra led by Music Director Daniel Canosa, is pleased to announce its 2014–15 season. Our fall concert, “Sturm und Drang, Music for Uncertain Times” (November 15), will include Joseph Haydn’s beautiful “Lord Nelson” Mass and feature Yuko Tanaka as harpsichord soloist in C.P.E. Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto in D minor. We will be joined by the Orchestra da Camera from San Domenico School’s Virtuoso Program for Mozart’s D major Divertimento. In the spring (March 28, 2015), we will venture into the enchanting baroque music of South America and the rhythmically exuberant music of the Old World with “Birds of Paradise: Exotic Music of the Old and New Worlds.” We include Rameau’s suite from Les Indes Galantes, Le Chant des Oiseaux from Clément Janequin, works by Mateo Flecha, and music from the South American missions of Guatemala, Peru, and Bolivia. This season’s opera presentation (June 19 and 20, 2015) in our delightful courtyard theater will be Purcell’s much-beloved Dido and Aeneas. More information can be found at www.marinbaroque.org.
