Valley of the Moon Music Festival
The third annual Valley of the Moon Music Festival celebrates the world of Robert Schumann over three consecutive weekends, July 16–30, juxtaposing the composer’s own compositions with chamber works by composers he idolized and championed. Opening concert: “Deserving of a Laurel Crown” Eric Hoeprich, clarinet; Nikki Einfeld, soprano; Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin; Holly Piccoli, violin; Carla Moore, viola; Tanya Tomkins, cello; and Eric Zivian, fortepiano, perform Mozart Quintet in A major for Clarinet and Strings and several pieces for clarinet, fortepiano and soprano by Schumann, Chopin and Gade. Special post-concert discussion from the stage led by KDFC radio’s Rik Malone
